General Summary:

We are eagerly seeking a passionate, highly organized and energetic individual to join our team in a multi-dimensional support role. This Accounting & Administrative Assistant role is to ensure the assigned office and accounting functions are completed expeditiously to meet company standards. The ideal candidate is a quick-learner with an accounting background and knowledge of Accpac. .

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to

Accounts Payable:

  • Checking for accuracy of bills
  • Matching, coding and posting bills
  • Resolving billing discrepancies
  • Processing payments (weekly and monthly)

Accounts Receivable:

  • Follow up of incoming payments and late payments
  • Processing customer invoices
  • Bank reconciliations and banking
  • Monitor outstanding balances on customer accounts and initiate communications and actions to collect revenues
  • Post journal entries

General Administration:

  • Provide office admin and reception duties
  • Open and distribute incoming mail, prepare and coordinate outgoing mail and courier
  • Manage office supplies and inventory of stock
  • Filing documents and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years administrative and/or accounting experience
  • Ability to prioritize tasks according to importance
  • Knowledge of Accpac and Microsoft Excel
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to work independently
  • Banking experience is an asset
  • Self-motivated, effective computer skills and communication skills
  • University degree or college diploma with an accounting focus
