Michigan municipal utility, was hit with a new variant of ransomware

NetworkWorld on May 1st reported on this new variant of ransomware.  After an employee opened an email with an infected attachment it spread to infect other computers, and even printers and other technology connected to the network.

“Trent Atkins, BWL Director of Emergency Management, added, “This was a very sophisticated virus that blew right through a number of our security systems.” ”
