THE OPPORTUNITY: Interwork Technologies is seeking a Network Security Sales Engineer to join our team and support our vendor offerings in North America. The Network Security Sales Engineer will work with our top software vendors who are leaders in the Gartner Magic Quadrant to deliver innovative and advanced solutions to our channel partners. The right candidate will become Interwork’s subject matter expert with specialized technology knowledge in network solutions, storage, servers and security. They will work closely with our Vendors and Value Added Resellers (VARs) to provide the design and implementation of network security solutions/services, including Vendor POC’s, technical product training, network security configuration/testing and implementation of new products/services.

Network Security SE Responsibilities:

  • Serves as Pre-sales and Post-sales engineer for network and security projects
  • Lead, monitor, and report on security services engagements with Interwork VAR customers, interacting with customer technical and executive personnel
  • Provide deep technical expertise on Interwork’s vendor security technologies, while also being able to communicate the big picture security solution
  • Provides Proof of Concept (POC) service to Value Added Reseller’s customers and help with planning and implementation of Vendor products
  • Develop solutions architecture and detailed line item configurations such as Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Install, test and support cyber-security solutions in conjunction with our VARs and Vendors
  • Conducts customer needs assessments and analysis thru onsite visits and conference calls to gather requirements for product recommendations
  • Conducts existing customers “Health Checks” to ensure installed solutions are properly configured and optimized to provide the strongest possible cyber security defense
  • Provides assistance to Project Managers during project kickoffs and meetings by providing technical details of system design
  • Provides software and network troubleshooting in complex customer environments
  • Responsible for periodic vulnerability testing, and lead remediation projects
  • Provides the necessary training and knowledge transfer to VAR’s, end-users and colleagues
  • Collaborate with our Vendor’s sales, product management, engineering, and other departments on security-related items
  • Assist in completing technical sections for Request for Proposal (RFP) / Request for Information (RFI) / Request for Quotation (RFQ) responses for sales opportunities
  • Maintain and expand working knowledge of key vendors current and beta product

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years Sales Engineering and/or professional services experience required
  • 5+ years’ experience with various Computer Software and Systems
  • 5+ years’ experience with various Content Security Software and Systems
  • Experience with VMware vCenter and View/VDI.
  • Network Infrastructure Experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of Anti-malware, Firewalls, Intrusion Detection and Prevention, Data Loss Protection, Endpoint Encryption, File Integrity Self-starter and
  • Quick learner with desire to learn new tools and technologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, account management and negotiation skills, with the ability to interface with a diverse set of clients
  • Moderate coaching and mentoring skills are essential
    • Microsoft – Windows, Active Directory, System Center, Exchange, SQL and IIS
    • Experience with Linux, PostreSQL, Lotus Notes and Domino is a plus
    • Host Based Firewalls, Intrusion Detection and Prevention, File Integrity Monitoring, Antivirus, Data Loss Protection, Endpoint Encryption, E-Mail and Web Gateway Security, e-mail encryption, Penetration Testing, SysLog, SIEM…
    • VMware vCloud Director Experience and Familiarity with Amazon AWS is a plus
    • Citrix XenDesktop and Provisioning Services experience is a plus
    • Routing, Switching, Edge Firewalls, Load Balancing

One or more of the following certifications or related experience is desired:

  • VCP – VMware Certified Professional
  • CCNA – Cisco Certified Network Associate
  • CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional
  • MCP – Microsoft Certified Professional
  • MCSE – Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert
  • Linux/Solaris/UNIX System Administration
  • CLP – Certified Lotus Professional

  • Up to 25% travel is required in this role
